Step Three: Bible Reading

Again, we want to celebrate with you your new found faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior; and the assurance that you have because you are His forever.

A very important activity of your Christian life is the reading of Holy Scripture. The Bible is God’s unique revelation to man. Not only is it authoritative in bringing us to salvation but it is a guide throughout our life. In this book we meet God and come to know Him in an intimate way. When we read the Bible we hear God’s thoughts (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

The Bible is wholly authoritative, fully reliable and absolutely relevant to our faith. The Bible is God’s book and more than two thousand six hundred times the writers of the Bible claim to be writing or speaking the very words of God. So what the authors wrote is what God Almighty is saying to the reader. By reading the Bible we will discover where we came from, why we are here and where  we are going (1 Corinthians 2:9-13).

So, be sure to include in your daily routine a systematic Bible reading. Reading a chapter a day is most natural for some. For others who want to read the Bible through in one year they read four chapters a day. You might even try reading a single book of the Bible in one day.  As you read you should personally reflect upon what you have read and apply what you have read to your life.
